New Caledonia has a rich vascular flora of at least 3,500 species with an endemism rate of 75%. The association Endemia and its network of expert botanists are continuing their identification and evaluation as the local Red List Authority approved by IUCN. In 2019, 9 new species were thus described, 8 of which are endemic to the archipelago.
